American Coaster EnthusiastsAMERICAN COASTER ENTHUSIASTS (ACE)

As a publicity stunt for the 1977 movie Roller Coaster, a group of roller coaster enthusiasts gathered at King's Dominion (now Paramount's Kings Dominion) in Doswell, VA for a marathon on the park's new coaster for the year: the Rebel Yell. After nearly one week of riding and sleeping on the coaster, three men broke the world's record for a coaster marathon. ACE was born the next year when the three marathoners reunited at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA.

ACE was founded as a not-for profit, all volunteer club to foster and promote the conservation, appreciation, knowledge and enjoyment of the art of the classic wooden roller coaster and the contemporary steel coaster. Since 1978, ACE has grown from 3 members to over 8,000 members representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 12 countries.

LUBBOCK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Lubbock Chamber of CommerceSince its beginning in 1913, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce's mission of strengthening, promoting and serving its member businesses has positively benefited the entire region and, most importantly, our quality of life.

As the largest business federation on the South Plains, the Chamber represents almost 2,200 members who employ approximately 60,000 workers and account for about $900 million in economic impact in Lubbock and West Texas. And, we do it without tax dollars.

Serving as a unified voice, the Chamber advocates for pro-business issues affecting Lubbock businesses on the local, state and national levels. Its efforts earned it the distinguished 5-Star Accrediation from the United States Chamber of commerce, American Chamber of Commerce Executives' 2008 Chamber of the Year, and the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives’ 2009 and 2008 Governmental Affairs Program of the Year.
